How much revenue do you need to go public?

Summary

There is no minimal amount of revenue required to become publicly traded. We've successfully taken several companies public with $0 in revenue. However, just because it's possible doesn't mean it makes sense.

Practically speaking...

In many cases, we represent companies that are launching a new product or service. While it may take time to complete business development, organize sales channels, market and then distribute, it's important to understand how and when each of those steps will manifest.

When a company does not have any revenue or is not presently profitable, the entrepreneur should evaluate how they will finance operations until such time as the business becomes profitable. However, any company can go public if there's a clear view of how revenue (and a profit!) will be generated.
