Going public can be incredibly cost effective if the process is managed correctly. There's a substantial difference between how much money you need to go public and how much money it costs to go public.
Our average client spends less than $175,000 to go public. However, the entrepreneurs we represent can start the entire process with less than $50,000 out of pocket. The rest of the capital is raised from friends, family, employees, customers and others. They are often very happy to support the entrepreneur in exchange for the opportunity to purchase shares before the company goes public.
Investors typically invest in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $25,000. These relatively small amounts of investment capital can quickly add up. Historically, entrepreneurs have been successful at raising between $200,000 to nearly $2 million. The proceeds are used to cover all the costs of a public listing and provide additional capital to grow the business. By structuring a financing at the start of the nine month public listing process, the entrepreneur can complete the process with very little of their own money.
